Unbelievable for the first time this year we were at full strength as we had everyone available for the mighty Under 12 Division One Mustangs! The subs although very strange were an awesome addition as the ongoing tough conditions of the grounds leading to tired legs. Being on the BIG field I'm sure is also a contributing factor. Anyway the best thing about today was the return of one of our much loved team members in Cooper for his first match of the season returning from an injury which had sidelined him for a long period of time and didn't he hold his head up high with a gutsy effort. Anyway the mighty U12 Div 1's after a sluggish start (not used to an early game ) slowly but surely broke down a tenacious Bradbury to eventually run away with the game and post a 4 goals to nil victory. The first half saw our goal scoring machine Austin H grab a cheeky goal set up by Conor before Conor doubling our lead with a bullocking run edging him clear of the defence
And slotting it home nicely. The second half our passing game improved out of sight as SuperCoach Daniel strategically manoeuvred the chess pieces as brilliant team goals finished off by Rhys and Seb completed our dominance. Bradbury as I mentioned earlier were very plucky in defeat and probably should of scored if not for the brilliance of our goal keeper Noah who had another great game. Today's player of the week went to Riley who was brilliant in defence winning all 50/50 balls due to just being hungrier for the ball. Well done Riley! The captains pick chosen by Conor our team captain today was awarded to none other than Cooper with a very gutsy comeback match. 2 points today went to Noah with a point awarded to Wyome for a brilliant second half. Overall everyone played their part in a good win. NB. Strap yourselves in as we go on a stretch of 2 games per week!
